The Race-Keeper Predictive iDash offers an in-depth in-car lap timing and performance monitoring system designed for race car drivers and track day enthusiasts. Utilizing advanced timing and velocity methodologies based on high-rate GPS and vehicle data, it provides live performance metrics alongside predictive lap times. The device features high-definition graphics that automatically adapt to various Apple devices, including the iPad with Retina Display, ensuring optimal visibility in diverse lighting conditions.

The system transmits real-time data wirelessly from Race-Keeper’s integrated onboard video data systems, displaying critical performance indicators such as:

The predictive mode displays estimated lap times and provides a visual "bow tie" indicator that clearly delineates whether current performance is faster (green) or slower (red) relative to previous bests. It also shows precise time differences in seconds and tenths, facilitating immediate assessment of driver progress.

This mode offers real-time comparative data between current and best lap performances, supporting drivers in making informed decisions—whether to push harder for qualifying times or conserve resources such as tires and fuel for subsequent laps.

Moreover, the iDash archives session data, including lap times and related metrics, enabling users to review performance trends after each track session. Start line positions for all tracks visited are stored within a dedicated database, alongside the best recorded lap times.

User customization is streamlined: tapping and holding the Race-Keeper logo for four seconds sets a preferred start page, enhancing quick navigation during high-pressure scenarios. Setup procedures are straightforward; connecting to Race-Keeper’s WiFi hotspot suffices to activate the device. Users can then configure shift points, define start-finish lines, select RPM sources (OBDII, CAN, or tachometer), and adjust gear settings via an intuitive on-screen interface.

The Predictive iDash is compatible with some of the most powerful portable displays available—namely the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad (including Retina models). These displays are highly legible even in direct sunlight. Multiple third-party mounts are available for secure installation inside the vehicle.
